About Us

Hello! I’m Billie Almanzor, and I’m the new owner of Happy Meadows Alaskan Malamutes!

When I met my husband he told me that he had wanted an Alaskan Malamute his whole life and planned to name him Bruno. I said absolutely not, at least while we lived in the city!

Not long after moving to Gray’s Harbor County and settling on 13 acres of untouched PNW rainforest, we drove past a big Happy Meadows Malamute puppies for sale sign and knew it was meant to be. My husband and I were blown away with Debra’s entire facility when we first met her; the space she gave for each dog to run was remarkable and the love and care for each one to have the best life possible.

We originally started with 2 puppies, Bruno and Tikkani.

We fell in love with the breed so much that 2 years later we added Amarok and Quartz to our family. We were planning a total of 6 when Debra decided to retire; 2, 4, 6… 9 dogs, it’s all the same! We thought it was just meant to be!

I love that we live so close that Debra can come and visit her dogs any time. I told her she could assume the role of grandma to the dogs; come over for all of the loves and fun stuff while I do all the daily hard work now! I’m so honored she chose us to adopt her dogs, to learn from all of her years of experience and continue co-parenting.

We have since built each dog their own 5000 square foot run that is naturally wooden by the PNW for full enrichment. Each bitch has her own whelping house for safe rearing. We plan to have 2 litters per year, 1 from each female allowing them time for proper postpartum healing. Each aged female will also live out her life on our farm throughout her retirement. We raise various animals to feed our dogs a proper raw diet.

Our Malamutes come from champion and show dogs. We breed and raise our standard Malamutes for quality and health. These beautiful, majestic and powerful dogs are loving and social. The good temperament comes from our in-house socialization and ability to run freely. The Alaskan Malamute is a larger dog and requires proper care and adequate room to run.
